FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What kinds of clients do you work with?

I specialize in working with individual adults and couples who are navigating questions of identity, spirituality, religious trauma, gender-affirming care, and deeper self-understanding. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+, questioning their faith or belief systems, or seeking a more liberatory approach to life.

What therapeutic approaches do you use?

My approach is primarily a psychodynamic one, which means that we explore not just what’s happening in your life now, but also the deeper patterns, emotions, and experiences that have shaped you. My approach is relational, collaborative and rooted in queer, decolonial, feminist, and anti-racist frameworks. I believe that throughout life, we have all been taught to turn away from certain parts of ourselves for many reasons. To connect to those parts, I use interventions from Internal Family Systems (IFS). I also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which is a technique that engages different parts of the brain to help individuals access and reprocess painful memories.

Do you offer in-person or virtual therapy?

I offer both virtual and in-person therapy for clients in New York. I work in two different offices at the Psychotherapy and Spirituality Institute. One of our offices are in downtown Manhattan near Seaport and on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

How do I know if therapy with you is the right fit?

Therapy is most effective when you feel understood and supported. I offer a free f15-minute consultation where we can discuss your needs, my approach, and whether we’re a good fit.

What are your fees?

For individuals, my fee is $120 for a 45 minute session and for couples, my fee is $140 for a 55 minute session. I also offer limited a limited number of sliding scale slots.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance directly, but I can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement if your plan covers it. If you have out-of-network benefits with your insurance, I also work with Thrizer, a payment app for therapy-goers and that makes out-of-network therapy more accessible. Individuals can use Thrizer to pay what they owe for out-of-network therapy instead of paying my full fee and waiting for insurance reimbursement.

Do you offer training or consulting?

Yes! I provide training for therapists on gender-affirming care and religious trauma, and consultation for individuals and organizations seeking to integrate gender-affirming care and spirituality into their work.
